本校為因應教育部國立大學校院校務基金之實施，秉持創校理念、校務研究與發展及增進校園機能，發揮大學社教功能，推動文化創意產業發展之需要，民國84年12月28日奉教育部核定校務研究發展中心設置辦法，並於85年11月正式成立「校務研究發展中心」，積極推動各項校務研究發展事務。中心初立首要工作係依據校務發展需要，陸續修訂相關規程及作業要點以利業務推展，並於本校推廣教育中心尚未設置前，配合部訂政策辦理本校推廣教育班次業務。

95年8月改制為研究發展處，於107-109年執行高等教育深耕計畫辦公室。

目前本處分綜合企劃、產學育成、學術發展三組及永續辦公室，工作重點包括：

TNUA Office of Research and Development (formerly Research and Development Center) established in 1996 to provide executive direction and integrate the University's research projects.

The development plan for medium-sized schools in the 98-102 school year was an important foundation for the school to face self-challenge and pursue breakthroughs in the next five years;  by building software and hardware capabilities and sustainable development capabilities, combined with cultural and artistic resources, development More representative art and cultural creative activities, effectively expand the international art exchange platform, and 'pursue excellence and be brave in innovation' with the goal of becoming a world-class art university.

It was restructured into the Research and Development Office in August 1995, and the Office for Higer Education Sprout Project was excuted in 107-109. There are three groups in office: comprehensive planning, industry-university cooperation and academic development. The R&D Office achieves this mission by:

。Providing strategic plans for the university.

。Conducting institution assessment.

。Integrating research projects for teachers.

。Promoting research achievements of the university.

。Enhancing collaboration among university segments.

。Outreaching outer organizations for seeking opportunities of co-operations.

。Coordinating innovation and entrepreneurship counseling resources.
